American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an ICU position in Hilo, Hawaii, requiring a minimum of 3 years of ICU experience and an active Hawaii RN license.

Hospital-based ICU setting with 11 beds
-
1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio

Shift schedule is varied — day or night shift determined per roster period based on staffing needs

Three 12-hour shifts (36 hours) per week following the first week of orientation

Two 12-hour on-call shifts required per 4-week roster period
-
Floating to other critical care and step-down units may be required

EMR: Meditech
-
Active Hawaii (HI) RN license required by start of assignment — must apply upon offer acceptance if not currently in hand

Minimum 3 years of ICU/intensive care experience required

Current certifications required: BLS/BCLS and ACLS

NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required — existing certification or completion of a 45-minute online class during orientation is accepted

Must be flexible with day and night shift scheduling

All travelers must report to Employee Health 48–72 hours prior to the start of their assignment — this appointment is held at Hilo Employee Health and attendance is mandatory

Travelers should plan to arrive in Hawaii the Thursday before a Monday start date in order to attend the Employee Health appointment on Friday morning

Orientation is up to 40 hours during the first week
