Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Independent Contractor Bookkeeper to join our team. As a Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with accounting regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting skills, experience with accounting software, and a keen eye for detail. This is a part-time job, approximately 10 - 20 hours a week and candidate must work in our office.
Responsibilities:
- Perform general ledger accounting tasks, including recording financial transactions and reconciling accounts
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
- Prepare year-end files for the audit
- Conduct account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and resolve any discrepancies
- Process accounts payable transactions
- Assist with payroll processing and tax filings
- Maintain an organized filing system for financial documents and records
- Stay up-to-date with accounting regulations and best practices
Requirements:
- 5+ years Bookkeeping experience
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Proficiency in using QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Office
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Knowledge of non-profit accounting regulations is a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
