GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Additive Manufacturing Technician is responsible for planning, coordinating, and maintaing the daily operations of our additive manufacturing production process. This role supports all stages of production, from print preparation and scheduling through post-processing, quality inspection, and shipment. Working closely with Engineering, Product Management, Operations, and Sales, the technician helps ensure high-quality parts are delivered on time while maintaining efficient workflows and exceptional customer satisfaction.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prepare print jobs by processing and optimizing 3D model files (.STEP and .STL).

Plan and coordinate production processes.

Schedule customer orders and production requests.

Prepare materials and perform material changeovers for SLS, FDM, and DLP 3D printers.

Perform post-processing of printed parts, including powder removal, support removal, and cleaning using blasting equipment.

Inspect finished parts by sorting, counting, measuring, and verifying quality.

Complete secondary operations such as drilling, tapping, installing threaded inserts, dyeing, smoothing, and other mechanical finishing processes.

Prepare finished products for storage, packaging, and shipment.

Identify and resolve production issues to maintain quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

Participate in Continuous Improvement (CIP) initiatives to enhance processes, quality, and operational performance.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
-
Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull materials, equipment, and finished parts weighing up to 50 pounds.

Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to dust, noise, and varying temperatures.

Ability to use a computer and other office equipment for production planning, scheduling, and print file preparation.
REQUIREMENTS:

Associate degree or trade school certification preferred, with an interest in additive manufacturing, 3D printing, or custom part fabrication.

Self-motivated and detail-oriented with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.

Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Willingness to learn and use CAD software for part preparation and modification; experience with Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, or similar software is a plus.
