Overview:
The Asst. Shop Manager is responsible for creating an environment that ensures excellence in Floyd’s 99 standards in client and employee retention, technical proficiency, and in-shop safety standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in retail and salon/barbershop management and possess strong leadership skills to drive sales and ensure excellent customer service.
Duties:
· Promote and maintain Floyd’s 99 culture, core values and service model.
· Meet or exceed key operating and financial metrics with a full understanding of shop revenue, average ticket, client headcount and retention, labor and cost control.
· Responsible for performing hair services on Clients if a licensed Stylist or Barber on an as needed basis
· Ensure proper staff coverage during all hours of operation by focusing on tech hours and productivity.
· Effectively manage and resolve Client service and employee concerns within a timely manner.
· Execute tasks and follow through to completion meeting all deadlines as defined by a District.
· Responsible for the management of Floyd’s 99 Shop Employees in recruitment, training, product knowledge, skills development, job performance, and recognition.
· Conduct regularly schedule performance reviews with Employees, that provides timely feedback and coaching regarding performance.
· Promote internal and external education and other development opportunities for staff.
· Responsible for following all local and federal guidelines in acquiring and maintaining Employee files to include I-9’s and Cosmetology Licenses.
· Conduct and assist District Manager with quarterly brand equity and file compliance audits
· Oversee inventory processes including order accuracy, timely invoicing entry and submission, maintaining adequate inventory levels and conducting physical counts.
· Maintain & safeguard inventory & other company assets (i.e. cash handling, shop equipment, etc.)
· Educate and encourage Employees to consistently recommend and upsell retail products and add-on services.
· Conduct in-shop safety audits, communicate safety initiatives in monthly shop meetings, and follow all safety guidelines specific to the industry.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Shop Manager or similar role
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills
- Proficiency in math for inventory management and sales analysis
- Multilingual abilities are a plus for diverse customer interactions
- Knowledge of merchandising techniques to drive sales
- Ability to effectively supervise staff and delegate tasks
- Experience with purchasing, marketing, and clerical duties in a retail setting

Pay: $30.00 - $42.00 per hour
Expected hours: 38 – 45 per week
