About the Role
We are seeking an organized and proactive Site Coordinator to oversee daily operations for our upcoming three-week summer literacy enrichment program. As the primary point of contact at the site level, you will serve as the essential link between instructional staff, program leadership, and Charles County Public Schools personnel. This role is ideal for an experienced educator or school leader who thrives in dynamic environments and is passionate about operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Oversight: Manage daily program logistics, including arrival/dismissal, transitions, and schedule adherence.
- Leadership & Liaison: Serve as the on-site point person for program staff and district personnel; troubleshoot operational concerns in real-time.
- Instructional Support: Provide guidance to instructional staff and step into classrooms to provide support or coverage when needed to ensure instructional continuity.
- Safety & Compliance: Monitor and enforce all safety protocols, attendance tracking, and school-based compliance requirements.
- Collaboration: Foster a collaborative team environment that supports high-quality literacy instruction and student enrichment.
What You’ll Bring
- Experience: Proven background in education, literacy intervention, or summer program leadership.
- Leadership Presence: Ability to remain calm under pressure, make decisive operational choices, and provide mentorship to staff.
- Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills; comfortable navigating professional relationships with school district partners and program stakeholders.
- Organization: Strong attention to detail and ability to track documentation and program compliance.
Requirements
- Availability: Must be able to commit to the full program dates: July 6–22, 2026 (Monday–Thursday).
- Compliance: Successful completion of all required Maryland school-based employment background checks, fingerprinting, and misconduct history reviews is mandatory.
- Reliability: Ability to maintain a consistent presence on-site and ensure operational readiness daily.
- Certification: Must hold a valid teaching certification; experience in literacy or intervention support is highly preferred.
