Job Summary
Coastal Eye Institute is seeking a bilingual Pediatric Ophthalmic Assistant. This position works closely with our pediatric ophthalmologist to provide exceptional care to infants, children, and adolescents in a fast-paced clinical environment.
The ideal candidate enjoys working with children, maintains a positive attitude, and is committed to creating a welcoming and reassuring experience for our young patients and their families.
Qualifications
- Fluent in both English and Spanish (required)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous medical or ophthalmic experience is a plus but not required; we are willing to train the right candidate
- Comfortable working with pediatric patients of all ages
- Proficient with computers and technology
- Available to work weekdays and most Saturday mornings
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and committed to providing high-quality patient care
- Warm, cheerful, patient and compassionate when interacting with children and families
Responsibilities
- Escort patients to examination rooms
- Perform computerized ophthalmic testing on pediatric patients
- Administer dilating eye drops to children under physician direction
- Accurately document patient information in the medical record
- Assist with maintaining exam rooms, equipment, and supplies
- Help create a calm, friendly, and supportive environment for children and their families

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
