Position Overview
The Marine Sales Professional is responsible for selling new and pre-owned boats while delivering a world class customer experience from initial inquiry through delivery and post-sale follow-up. This role requires strong product knowledge, consistent outbound sales activity, accurate documentation, and close collaboration with service, finance, and operations teams to ensure smooth transactions and long-term customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Sell new and pre-owned boats by identifying customer needs, presenting product features, and guiding customers through the sales process
- Conduct a minimum of 30 outbound calls to prospects, leads, and past customers
- Follow up consistently with leads, showroom visitors, and prior customers to build relationships and drive repeat business
- Accurately log all customer interactions, sales activities, and deal details in the company’s CRM or sales system
- Coordinate with service, finance, parts, and operations departments to ensure timely and accurate deal execution
- Prepare and present pricing, options, and purchase documentation in compliance with company policies
- Participate in boat demonstrations, walk-throughs, and delivery processes as needed
- Maintain a professional appearance and represent the dealership positively at all times
- Stay informed on product knowledge, promotions, and market trends
Performance Expectations
- Meet or exceed monthly and annual sales goals
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date CRM records
- Consistently complete required outbound call activity
- Demonstrate strong communication and teamwork across departments
- Provide a high level of customer service before and after the sale
Qualifications & Skills
- Prior sales experience preferred (marine, automotive, or recreational sales a plus)
- Strong communication, follow-up, and relationship-building skills
- Comfortable with phone-based outbound sales activity
- Detail-oriented with the ability to document information accurately
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
- Valid driver’s license
Work Environment
This position operates in a dealership environment, including showroom, marina, and outdoor settings. Weekend and seasonal hours are required.
