Duties
- Develop and maintain relationships with shippers, carriers, and clients to facilitate efficient freight movement.
- Coordinate transportation logistics using Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and other CRM software to track shipments, manage documentation, and optimize routes.
- Negotiate rates, contracts, and service terms with carriers to secure competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards.
- Manage the end-to-end freight brokerage process, including booking shipments, tracking deliveries, and resolving any issues that arise during transit.
- Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, FDA regulations (if applicable), and trade compliance standards for all shipments.
- Collaborate with sales teams on B2B sales initiatives, providing tailored logistics solutions that meet client needs.
- Monitor supply chain trends and industry developments such as NVOCC (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier) operations, air freight options, and 3PL (Third-Party Logistics) services to expand service offerings.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in freight brokerage, logistics sales, or transportation management within a logistics company environment.
- Strong knowledge of supply chain management, shipping logistics, transportation planning, and freight forwarding logistics.
- Familiarity with Transportation Management Systems (TMS), EDI (Electronic Data Interchange), AS400 systems, and CRM software like Salesforce or similar platforms.
- Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of successful contract negotiations and client relationship management.
- Ability to navigate international trade regulations, trade compliance standards, and FDA regulations when applicable.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) for reporting and communication purposes.
- Exceptional customer service skills combined with effective inside sales techniques to foster long-term client relationships.
- Strong understanding of carrier sales strategies including freight pricing models and transportation sales tactics.

Pay: $52,000.00 - $62,000.00 per year
