AMAA is seeking an experienced and licensed Senior Structural Engineer / Project Manager to join our growing New York office. This leadership role is ideal for a motivated structural engineering professional with strong technical expertise, project management experience, and the ability to mentor junior staff while serving as a trusted partner to clients and design teams.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead structural engineering design and project delivery for a wide range of building projects utilizing steel, concrete, masonry, and wood systems
- Manage projects through all phases, including schematic design, construction documents, permitting, and construction administration
- Serve as project lead and primary point of contact for clients, architects, contractors, and consultants
- Perform and oversee structural analysis, design calculations, and preparation of technical documentation
- Review and coordinate drawings, specifications, and engineering deliverables
- Conduct site visits, field investigations, and existing building evaluations
- Mentor and supervise junior engineering staff and support team development
- Coordinate internal project teams to ensure quality, schedule, and budget objectives are achieved
- Maintain familiarity with current industry trends, design standards, and applicable building codes
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with a concentration in Structural Engineering (Master’s degree preferred)
- 15+ years of experience in structural engineering design for commercial, institutional, and/or mixed-use building projects
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) required; SE license a plus
- Demonstrated experience leading structural projects and managing small engineering teams
- Strong technical knowledge of structural analysis and finite element modeling
- Working knowledge of applicable building codes and standards, including, ACI 318, AISC 360, ASCE 7, IBC
- NYC Building Code experience strongly preferred
- Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and client management skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced consulting environment
