Audit Senior Manager – Austin (hybrid) | Real Estate Focus | $180–$210k
5+ Years Public Accounting Experience | CPA Required
Are you an Audit Senior Manager looking to step into a more client-facing leadership role within Real Estate, without sacrificing your work-life balance or long-term progression?
Joining this well-established mid-sized CPA firm, you’ll be stepping into a high-growth Audit Senior Manager position focused specifically on Real Estate clients, with a clear pathway for strong performers to progress into Director and beyond. The team is continuing to expand off the back of sustained client demand across real estate development, investment and construction portfolios, so this is very much a growth hire rather than backfill.
As a Senior Manager, you won’t be stuck in a pure review-heavy role. You’ll take ownership of complex real estate audit engagements end-to-end, working directly with partners and clients, leading planning through to completion, and being the key point of contact when technical and commercial issues arise. You’ll also play a big part in shaping and developing the team underneath you, with real influence over how engagements are delivered rather than just signing them off.
From a lifestyle perspective, the firm has moved away from the traditional mid-tier “all or nothing” busy season model. You can expect busy season hours to typically peak around 55 hours, with a far more balanced 40-hour week outside of peak periods in the summer months. There’s also a flexible hybrid setup from their Houston HQ, with a few days in office and the remainder working from home, plus minimal travel requirements compared to many firms at this level.
Ideally, you’ll come from a mid-size or regional CPA firm background and already have strong exposure to real estate, construction or related asset-heavy industries. You’ll be confident leading engagements, managing multiple deadlines, and mentoring teams of seniors and associates, while still maintaining a hands-on approach to quality and client delivery. This isn’t a “hands-off” management role, it suits someone who still enjoys being close to the detail while operating at a more strategic level.
On top of this, you’ll benefit from a strong overall package including full healthcare cover, 4 weeks PTO increasing with tenure, and a competitive bonus structure that rewards both individual and firm performance.
Not ready to update your resume? That’s completely fine. This time of year is usually when people start taking stock, what’s working, what isn’t, and whether the next move needs to look different.
