The Human Resources Coordinator provides administrative and operational support for human resources functions throughout the Catholic Diocese of Peoria, with primary responsibilities in employee benefits, employment compliance, unemployment administration, retirement plan support, onboarding, and personnel records. The position works with the Human Resources Director, employees, parishes, schools, business managers, and benefit vendors to ensure accurate records, effective communication, timely administration, and compliance with applicable laws and diocesan policies.
What You Will Do
Benefits Administration
- Maintain employee and dependent information for BCBSIL, Delta Dental, EyeMed, and internal health insurance invoicing systems.
- Assist with Continuation of Benefits administration, including participant tracking and monthly premium collection. · Communicate benefit information to employees and business managers; maintain benefit, life insurance, and 403(b) beneficiary records.
- Assist the Human Resources Director with Clergymen's Aid, Inc.payroll and onboarding.
Unemployment Administration (IDES)
- Assist diocesan entities with unemployment claims, including reviewing claims for eligibility and potential grounds for protest; monitor filings and notify the Human Resources Director of new activity.
- Assist with high-priority claims; review quarterly payment balances; manage IDES account setups, changes, terminations, powers of attorney, and related records.
403(b) Retirement Plan - Empower
- Assist parish and school business managers with 403(b) contribution data and inquiries.
- Monitor monthly contributions and maintain accurate retirement plan records and documentation.
Employment Compliance and Personnel Records
- Compile, maintain, audit, and update personnel records, Form I-9 documentation, and other confidential employee records in accordance with HR policies and applicable laws.
- Ensure required employment documentation is completed, properly maintained, and kept confidential and secure.
Onboarding and General HR Support
- Assist with New Employee Onboarding for Payroll, Benefits, and Safe Environment.
- Provide professional and responsive customer service to employees, business managers, parishes, schools, and other diocesan entities.
What You Will Have
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, business, or a related field preferred.
- Previous experience in human resources administration, employee benefits, HRIS, payroll, retirement plans, or a related field preferred.
- Experience with church, parish, school, or nonprofit administrative structures.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and database systems; ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary Range: $48,000-$58,000 per year, based on skills and experience.
