American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of experience for a cardiac cath lab position requiring proficiency in interventional and diagnostic procedures including PCI, structural heart interventions, and advanced hemodynamic monitoring.

Acute care hospital cardiac catheterization lab setting supporting both diagnostic and interventional procedures
-
Patient population includes adults referred with cardiovascular diagnoses such as coronary artery disease (stable and unstable angina, NSTEMI, STEMI), heart failure, valvular disease, congenital heart disease, pulmonary hypertension, pericardial disease, and pre-operative cardiac evaluation

1:1 patient ratio

Procedures include PCI (balloon angioplasty and stent placement), left and right heart catheterization, IABP placement/removal, PFO/ASD closure, CTO, cardiogenic shock management, and Impella insertion
-
Preferred procedures include TAVI/TAVR, rotablader atherectomy, Impella insertion, cardiac implant closure devices, and upper/lower extremity angiography

Major equipment includes Impella, Penumbra, EKOS, Roto, Ultrasound, Shockwave, ACIST, and the GE Mac Lab system
-
Medications administered include antiarrhythmics, antihypertensives, IV vasopressors, thrombolytics, procedural sedation agents, and reversal agents
-
Epic EMR; Pyxis for medication management

5x8 day shifts, Monday–Friday, 6:45 AM–3:15 PM, with occasional late days approximately 4–5 times per month (rarely past 5:00 PM)

On-call requirement of one day per week and every fifth weekend

Floating within the facility may be required as needed
-
Minimum of 2 years of relevant cath lab experience required
-
Experience in both diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab settings required
-
Current BLS and ACLS required
-
Proficiency in 12-lead EKG interpretation, dysrhythmia management, ACT monitoring, procedural sedation monitoring, and sheath removal
-
IV therapy skills including blood product administration, IV infusion pumps, and starting IVs
-
First-time travelers will be considered for this position
-
License required if applicable

Two professional references from a manager or supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration (pending at time of submission is acceptable)

16-hour unit orientation provided upon start; weekly orientation schedule

Approximately 8–10 hours of pre-start online modules required; modules must be completed prior to start and annually

Scrubs provided

Candidates must be available for a manager interview prior to offer

Candidates who previously worked at this health system as permanent, PRN, or employed staff must wait 12 months before applying as a traveler; facility rehire approval is required

Local candidates are accepted; candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility qualify at a different rate
-
Up to 7 days of RTO may be auto-approved as long as it does not fall on a holiday; additional RTO requires facility approval; no RTO is permitted during the first week of assignment due to orientation

Candidates must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays

Travel pairs are allowed but must have their own transportation and be comfortable with potentially different schedules
