Responsibilities
- Measure vital signs accurately and document patient histories to support clinical assessments.
- Prepare examination rooms, sterilize equipment, and assist providers during procedures such as X-ray imaging or phlebotomy.
- Support medical documentation by recording patient encounters, updating medical records, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist with medication administration, including injections or other treatments under provider supervision.
- Manage appointment scheduling, patient intake processes, and follow-up communications to optimize clinic flow.
- Manage the doctors' rounding list and schedule
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Medical Assistant or in a similar medical office role with exposure to specialties such as dermatology, internal medicine, or emergency medicine.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, ICD coding (International Classification of Diseases), and pharmacology principles.
- Proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR) and Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems for accurate documentation and management of patient data.
- Strong patient service skills with the ability to handle diverse populations including geriatrics in the clinic setting.
