- Ability to apply a wide range of casting techniques in accordance with established practices
- Perform cast application and removal by verbally confirming with the patient before beginning the application
- Assesses patient comfort related to casts; assists with comfort measures
- Responsible for sanitization of instruments
- Cleans and stocks cast rooms and exam rooms
- Assists providers’ clinical healthcare team as needed
- Maintain a safe clinical environment in accordance with all OSHA guidelines
- Responsible for performing tasks that are within the scope of his/her educational preparation, knowledge, and permitted local, state, and federal guidelines; and the policies of the facility requesting the services.
- Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA
- Ability to work effectively within role independently and with other team members
- Working knowledge of orthopedic terminology and anatomy
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Detail oriented with above average organizational skills
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Experience in a clinical setting strongly preferred
