Removal Technician
Dakota Embalming & Transport Service (DE&TS) has an opening for a Removal Technician. Responsibilities include removal and transport of decedents, management of on-call phone operations, and tasks as needed to support licensed embalmers and crematory operations. This position is available for part-time hours and includes days, nights, and weekend shifts. The Removal Technician position is a great fit for anyone currently in school for a mortuary science degree or looking to enter the death care profession. It provides a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience under the supervision of licensed professionals including embalmers and funeral directors.
DE&TS is the only true dedicated trade service in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, offering a broad range of death care services to funeral homes in a multi-state area, and is the largest supplier of embalming and cremation services in SD. As a Removal Technician, primary responsibilities will include removal and transportation of human remains, managing on-call support after hours and on weekends and responding to removal calls in a timely manner, as well as a variety of tasks to support the day-to-day operations of DE&TS. Employees are expected to always represent DE&TS professionally. Employees are seen as an extension of the company where quality, professionalism and top-notch service are provided to all clients. Specifically, duties include but are not limited to:
· Removal and transportation of human remains from a variety of locations, including health care facilities, in home or at place of residence, or airport.
· Maintaining accurate records and documentation as required
· Maintaining removal and transport supplies and vehicles
· Other tasks or duties as assigned that support daily operation of DE&TS. This will include a variety of tasks that support daily embalming and cremation services, including answering phones, running errands, restocking supplies, etc.
· A driver’s license with acceptable driving record
· Be able to pass a background check
· A professional appearance
· Physically capable of heavy lifting and keeping up with a fast-paced work environment
· Can work independently and manage on-call phone operations during evening and weekend shifts and respond to calls in a timely manner.
· Can comply with state rules for decedent handling.

· $22 - $25/hour for day shifts
· Evening on-call pay structure
· Extra pay for holidays
Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
