About the Role: We are seeking a passionate and mission-driven Employment Specialist to join our team. This is a hybrid, community-based role that does not require reporting to an office. You will work in the field and from home, directly supporting individuals with disabilities and other underserved populations on their path to meaningful employment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage with clients to assess strengths, interests, and job readiness through person-centered planning.
- Deliver direct job coaching and career guidance to support clients from job search to placement and retention.
- Conduct resume writing sessions, mock interviews, and provide job search training.
- Identify and develop partnerships with employers and community stakeholders.
- Meet clients at job sites, training centers, and interviews
- Monitor and support client progress throughout job placements, offering workplace accommodations and coaching as necessary.
- Maintain detailed and timely documentation for case records and reporting requirements.
- Coordinate with vocational counselors, occupational therapists, and other service providers.
Qualifications:
- Education or experience in human services, counseling, social sciences, or a related field.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and coaching skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and travel locally as needed.
- Comfortable using technology for documentation, communication, and organizational tasks.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with individuals to support their personal, educational, or professional goals.
- Familiarity with community resources, support systems, or accessibility-related topics.
- Ability to adapt to diverse needs and collaborate with various stakeholders.
Work Environment:
- Hybrid & Field-Based: No in-office presence required. This role is performed in the community, from home, and in various work environments depending on client and employer needs.
- Flexible scheduling and autonomy in managing your caseload and appointments.
