We are seeking an enthusiastic, organized, and customer-focused Membership Manager to lead our membership department and ensure every member and guest receives exceptional service from their first visit and throughout their membership.
Position Summary
The Membership Manager is responsible for overseeing all membership operations, welcome desk services, member engagement, insurance-based fitness memberships, and front desk staff. This position plays a vital role in member recruitment, retention, and creating a welcoming environment that reflects Via’s mission and values.
Essential Responsibilities
- Oversee all daily membership operations and welcome desk activities.
- Recruit, enroll, and retain members through outstanding customer service.
- Conduct facility tours and explain membership options and benefits.
- Process new memberships, renewals, cancellations, and account updates using MySenior software.
- Manage insurance-based fitness memberships, including SilverSneakers®, Renew Active®, Silver&Fit®, One Pass®, and other eligible fitness programs.
- Verify insurance eligibility and maintain accurate membership records.
- Supervise, train, schedule, and evaluate Welcome Desk staff and volunteers.
- Ensure accurate cash handling, daily balancing, and membership reporting.
- Assist members with questions, concerns, and conflict resolution in a professional and timely manner.
- Coordinate new member orientations.
- Work collaboratively with Fitness, Programming, Café, Rentals, and Administration to provide a seamless member experience.
- Support marketing efforts by promoting memberships, programs, events, and community outreach initiatives.
- Assist with special events, health fairs, and membership drives.
- Maintain confidentiality of member information and comply with organizational policies.
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of two years of experience in customer service, membership services, recreation, nonprofit management, or a related field.
- Previous supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and membership management software; MySenior experience is a plus.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a positive and professional attitude.
- Passion for serving older adults and promoting healthy aging.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
- Occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends for special events.
