Expo / Line Cook
Life After is looking for a skilled, organized, and detail-oriented Expo/Line Cook to join our culinary team. This position serves as the primary expeditor during service, ensuring every plate leaving the kitchen meets our standards for quality, presentation, accuracy, and timing. While leading the expo station, you'll also step onto the line as needed to assist with production during peak service, helping maintain the pace and flow of the kitchen.
Responsibilities
- Own the expo station throughout service, managing ticket flow from kitchen to dining room
- Ensure every plate is prepared, garnished, and presented according to Life After's presentation standards before leaving the kitchen
- Coordinate timing between all kitchen stations so complete orders are finished and sent together
- Communicate continuously with line cooks, servers, bartenders, managers, and chefs to ensure accurate and efficient service
- Monitor ticket times and prioritize orders to maintain speed without compromising quality
- Plate menu items with consistency, attention to detail, and proper portioning
- Jump onto the line during busy periods to assist with cooking and production as needed
- Prepare menu items according to recipes and quality standards when supporting line operations
- Identify and correct food quality or presentation issues before dishes leave the kitchen
- Keep the expo station clean, organized, stocked, and service-ready at all times
- Assist with prep, stocking, opening duties, closing duties, and side work
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, labeling, and health department standards
- Foster strong communication and teamwork between the front-of-house and back-of-house teams
Qualifications
- Previous experience as an expeditor, line cook, or lead line cook in a high-volume restaurant
- Strong understanding of kitchen operations, food preparation, and plating standards
- Ability to manage multiple tickets and priorities simultaneously
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to consistency
- Ability to remain calm and organized under pressure
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays

Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour
