Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Pharmacist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe and effective use of medications, providing patient care, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to optimize therapeutic outcomes. This role requires a strong commitment to patient assessment and education, as well as adherence to regulatory standards.
Duties
- Review and interpret prescriptions to ensure accuracy and appropriateness of medication therapy.
- Conduct patient assessments to evaluate medication needs and health status.
- Provide medication administration as required, including immunizations.
- Counsel patients on medication usage, potential side effects, and interactions.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to develop and implement individualized medication plans.
- Supervise pharmacy technicians in daily operations and ensure adherence to aseptic techniques.
- Stay informed about new medications, therapies, and industry trends through continuous education.
- Utilize medical terminology effectively in communication with patients and healthcare professionals.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of physiology and medical terminology.
- Experience in a pharmacy residency program is preferred but not mandatory.
- Proficiency in patient assessment techniques.
- Familiarity with medication administration protocols.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and compliance requirements.
- Ability to perform aseptic techniques in a pharmacy setting.
- Experience working with pharmacy technicians and managing pharmacy systems.
- Excellent communication skills for effective patient interaction and collaboration with healthcare teams.
