Position Summary
Southeastern Health and Wellness Institute (SEHWI) is seeking an experienced and dynamic Program Director to lead the development and implementation of its Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS) Program. The Program Director is responsible for academic leadership, curriculum oversight, faculty supervision, accreditation preparation, student success initiatives, and clinical partnership development.
The Program Director will ensure compliance with institutional standards, South Carolina Commission on Higher Education (SC CHE) requirements, and accreditation standards established by CAAHEP/JRC-DMS.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and oversight for all aspects of the DMS program
- Develop, implement, and evaluate curriculum and instructional effectiveness
- Ensure compliance with institutional, state, and accreditation standards
- Supervise and evaluate faculty and instructional staff
- Coordinate program assessment and student learning outcomes
- Assist with student recruitment, admissions, retention, and advising
- Oversee clinical education coordination and affiliate partnerships
- Maintain documentation for accreditation and regulatory compliance
- Participate in institutional committees and strategic planning activities
- Monitor program budget, equipment, and resource needs
- Foster relationships with healthcare providers and community partners
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred
- Current ARDMS credential(s) required in either Abdominal, Obstetrician-Gynecologist and/or Vascular concentrations
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience as a registered sonographer in the professional field
- Experience in supervision, instruction, evaluation, student guidance and in educational theories and techniques
- Knowledge of CAAHEP/JRC-DMS accreditation standards
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior Program Director experience
- Accreditation experience with CAAHEP/JRC-DMS
- Experience with curriculum development and outcomes assessment
- Prior experience in higher education administration
Pay: $95,000.00 per year
