We are seeking an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) to join our team for a 13-week contract assignment at Hilo Medical Center in Hilo, Hawaii.

Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Emergency Department.
- Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments and promptly identify changes in condition.
- Triage patients and prioritize care based on acuity and clinical needs.
- Administer medications, treatments, and therapies safely and accurately.
- Monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and patient responses to treatment.
- Assist with emergency procedures, trauma care, and resuscitation as needed.
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
- Provide care for patients with a wide range of emergency and acute conditions.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in EPIC.
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment, medications, discharge instructions, and follow-up care.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and supportive environment for patients and staff.
- Follow facility policies, infection-control standards, and applicable nursing practice guidelines.

- Schedule: 3 × 12-hour shifts per week
- Hours: 36 hours/week
- Hours Guarantee: No guarantee of hours
- Holiday Coverage: Required
- Minimum Experience: 2 years

The Emergency Department is a 28-bed unit that includes:
- 4 trauma bays
- 2 behavioral health rooms
- 22 cardiac monitor rooms
- Fast-paced environment with quick patient turnover
- Team-oriented and collaborative staff
Required Certifications:
Licensure:
Current RN license to practice in the State of Hawaii
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of ER nursing experience
Preferred Certifications:
- Procedural Sedation
- TMCC
- EMPC
