Role Objective
We are seeking a mechanically minded professional to serve as the critical engine of our aftermarket operations. In this role, you will bridge the gap between technical inquiry and operational execution by managing the full lifecycle of parts requests and service projects. You will use your deep mechanical intuition to translate complex customer needs into accurate quotes, oversee the shop's technical workflow, and ensure high-quality, timely delivery of refurbished thermal solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Shop Leadership & Technical Workflow: Direct and oversee the shop workflow, ensuring our technicians are prioritized, productive, and working efficiently.
- Operational Performance & Repair Management: Manage the entire lifecycle of a repair from initial equipment check-in to final customer reporting.
- Technical Quoting: Price parts and service projects accurately, identifying part systems and specifications for 25+ diverse industrial vendors to maintain high margins.
- Capacity Optimization: Actively drive shop profitability by moving our shop utilization from 60% capacity toward a target of 100% capacity.
- Technical Customer Support: Act as the "Inside Sales" expert for our worldwide client base, fielding incoming parts requests and supporting outside sales engineers.
- Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all technical repairs meet rigid factory and safety standards, achieving 100% completion of preliminary and final service reports.
- Systems Improvement: Utilize CRM/ERP systems for inventory and quoting, and assist in digitizing legacy hard-copy files.
Qualifications & Mechanical Skills Required
- Experience: 5+ years in an industrial or mechanical position (e.g., Service Manager for a mechanical contractor, Navy/Military purchasing, or industrial parts sales).
- Mechanical Aptitude: Mechanically inclined with a deep understanding of how pumps, motors, and industrial systems work.
- Technical Track Record: Proven ability to navigate complex vendor relationships and manage high-volume part numbers.
- Traits: Exceptionally disciplined, tech-literate, and highly organized.
- Education: A college degree in Engineering or Business is preferred, but equivalent hands-on mechanical experience is highly valued.
Schedule & Work Environment
- Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
- Location: Fully in-office at our Covington, GA facility.
- Team Mindset: "All hands on deck" mentality, especially during summer peaks or dealing with Friday afternoon catastrophic failures for clients.
