Position Title: Mammography Technologist
Job Type: Full-time, Part-time or PRN
Location: This position is listed as a traveling role
Pay Range: $80,000 to $100,000 annually + Sign-on bonus
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm, 40hrs./week
General Duties
- Responsible for operating mobile mammogram equipment for screening mammography services within the Midwest region.
- Maintain equipment in working order, making minor adjustments and repairs. Perform routine cleaning, preventive maintenance, and report any equipment malfunction to radiology management staff.
- Performs a full range of screening mammogram technologist assignments and uses considerable independent judgment in making decisions requiring the interpretation and application of established methods and procedures to specific situations.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Sets up and operates equipment used in the medical diagnosis and/or treatment of patients.
- Positions and restrains patients; and takes images per screening mammogram protocol.
- Implements infection control procedures for the work area.
- Checks for clarity of image, and retakes images when needed.
- Distributes images to appropriate medical staff.
- Maintains quantity and quality control checks to assure units meet standards required by laws, rules, and departmental policies.
- Cleans, maintains, and makes minor adjustments to radiographic equipment, including determining repairs needed to equipment.
- Protects patient and other personnel from radiation hazards.
- Maintains radiographic supplies and equipment.
- Analyze patient’s medical record to obtain history of symptoms and necessary information for performance of diagnostic and screening procedures.
- Participate in quality improvement activities; evaluate procedure results for technical quality and accuracy; maintain appropriate logs, files, and records.
- Prepares preliminary reports for review and interpretation by physician, including comparison of previous studies.
- Review department performance in relation to established goals, implementing changes to effect outcomes.
- Maintain confidentiality of patients, employees, and corporation-related activities.
- Communicate technical and patient care related information according to established processes and timelines.
Physical Demands
- Responsible for keeping all company equipment, workstation and other materials clean.
- Responsible for positioning patients appropriately for imaging.

Qualifications:
- A technologist with a minimum of two (2) years of experience as a mammographer. Must possess two years' experience in performing mammography QA under the MQSA Standard.
- Must be ARRT registered, grad of Radiologic Technology Program.
