Quality Inspector
We are a well-established Swiss Screw Machine Job Shop, specializing in precision turned parts for various industries since 1956. We are looking for a motivated, career-focused, hardworking individual to perform product measurements during production runs to support the setup team. You will use various inspection equipment to verify the products being produced meet the design requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Use various inspection equipment including but not limited to micrometers, calipers, comparators and scales.
- Approve in-process production by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; communicating required adjustments to production and supervisor.
- Approve finished products by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; returning products for re-work; confirming re-work.
- Document inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizing re-work; inputting data into quality databases.
- Interpret blueprints and have a clear understanding of all quality issues pertaining to the work being processed.
- Analyze process control charts and determine when the process must be shut down or interrupted to correct out of control conditions.
- Communicate non-conforming issues to management to drive process change and improve product quality
- Ensure customer specifications and quality standards are met
- Collaborate with other Quality Inspectors and Production personnel to maintain a safe, healthy work environment and follow standards and procedures.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years in manufacturing or related industry
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate across levels of the organization.
- Read and comprehend blueprint specifications including tolerance allowance.
- Must possess computer skills to perform daily reporting duties on the ERP system
- Must have good math skills and be attentive to details of the job.
- Team player, must be well spoken, and a good writer.
- Must be able to work both independently and in a team approach environment.
- Willing to undergo a background check, in accordance with local law/regulations & drug test screening.
Physical requirements
- Stand; walk frequently.
- Sit occasionally.
- Use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms frequently.
- Lift and/or move up to 10 pounds frequently.
- Lift and/or move up to 25 pounds occasionally.
- Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds seldomly.
- Vision abilities required are close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Job Type: Full-time
Schedule:
- 8-hour shift 6 AM to 2:30 PM
- Monday to Friday
Pay Range: $18-$22 per hour commensurate with experience.
