Job Summary
Join our dynamic team as a CDL Class A Driver specializing in port operations along the Ports of New York and. In this vital role, you will operate tractor-trailers and various specialized trucks to transport freight efficiently and safely between port facilities, distribution centers, and delivery points. Your expertise will ensure timely deliveries, compliance with safety regulations, and seamless logistics flow. Duties
- Safely operate tractor-trailers, flatbeds, refrigerated trailers, and other commercial trucks across over-the-road (OTR) routes and port facilities.
- Navigate routes precisely using GPS navigation systems to meet delivery schedules across diverse locations.
- Transport hazardous materials (hazmat) and dangerous goods in compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and hazardous materials regulations.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, cargo details, and delivery documentation in adherence to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to identify maintenance needs or safety issues.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding route changes, delivery updates, or safety concerns.
Skills
- Proven experience operating various commercial trucks including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, refrigerated trailers
- Strong knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT standards, hazardous materials handling, and dangerous goods transportation.
- Skilled in route planning using GPS navigation for efficient delivery driving across OTR routes.
- Excellent driving record with experience in truck
- Knowledge of trucking safety protocols including hazard awareness, vehicle inspection procedures, and compliance with DOT regulations.
