Monroe County Community College (MCCC) seeks a qualified adjunct faculty member to oversee the College/Community Band, a performance-based mixed ensemble comprised of musicians from the MCCC student body and the community. The Band performs at least four concerts between August and May.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
The director reports to the Dean of Humanities/Social Sciences. They are responsible for teaching MUSIC 154, 155, 254, 255 (combined College-Community Symphony Band courses), leading and directing the College-Community Symphony Band during musical performances, scheduling rehearsals, selecting appropriate musical pieces, maintaining the music library, and making budgetary recommendations to the dean. The director works closely with the College/Community Orchestra director and the Agora Chorale director, and together they recommend students for MCCC’s Performing Arts Scholarship awards.
