Overview
We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating forklifts, to efficiently load, unload, and move materials within our distribution center. This role requires a strong understanding of warehouse operations, safety protocols, and materials handling procedures. Prior warehouse experience, including order picking and shipping & receiving, is highly valued. The successful candidate will contribute to maintaining a smooth workflow and ensuring the safe handling of goods in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Supply the Line: Deliver raw materials, packaging, and components to specific production line stations on time to prevent any downtime or bottlenecks.
- Remove Finished Goods: Promptly clear finished products from the end of the production line and transport them to the staging, stretch-wrapping, or shipping areas.
- Manage Work-in-Progress (WIP): Move semi-finished goods between different manufacturing departments or holding areas for further processing.
- Waste & Scrap Removal: Transport scrap materials, empty pallets, and waste bins away from the production area to designated recycling or disposal zones to keep the workspace clear.
Scheduled: Sunday to Thursday 2pm to 10:30pm
Skills
- Proven experience operating forklift equipment in a warehouse setting.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to warehouse operations and heavy equipment operation.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic troubleshooting on equipment.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and RF scanners for order picking and inventory control.
- Strong understanding of materials handling, shipping & receiving procedures, and heavy lifting techniques.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently throughout shifts.
- Mechanical knowledge related to forklift maintenance or repair is advantageous.
- Prior warehouse supervisor experience or extensive warehouse distribution background is desirable but not mandatory. Pay: From $19.00 per hour
