Job Title : Employment Specialist Bi-Lingual (Spanish)
Job Location : Travels to locations throughout Middlesex, Somerset and HunterdonCounties, NJ.
Hours : Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:00pm
(flexible nights & weekends when needed)
PURPOSE:
To provide direct operational oversight of vocational programs including small group supported employment and provide individualized Supported Employment Services. To function as a job developer, job coach, and activity planner for individuals with developmental disabilities.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Have an Associate's degree or higher in a related field from an accredited college or university or have a high school diploma or equivalent with three (3) years of related experience.
- Be familiar with the demands and expectations of business and industry.
- Valid unrestricted driver's license with good driving record
- Proof of valid auto insurance coverage.
- Ability to lift and transfer at least 50 pounds
- The ability to sit, bend, squat, reach, be agile, physically pursue individuals on foot and stand for several hours at a time
- The ability to read, write and verbally communicate in English and Spanish and direct/respond to individual's needs
- Basic Computer Literacy

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The ability to work a flexible schedule of 40 hours including nights and weekends.
- The ability to travel to various vocational programs.
- The ability to be organized, make full schedule of appointments and have great follow up
- The ability to manage your daily schedule, making needed appointments to fulfill quotas of billable hours required in the service provided.
- Provide transportation in personal vehicle
- Provide all phases of Supported Employment Services
- Conduct Intake in Spanish with Spanish speaking participants and families.
- Work in other Allies programs as requested by supervision.
- Have the flexibility to provide all services within the Vocational Services Department as assigned.
- Promote and maintain the positive public image of Allies Inc.
- Meet quality assurance and compliance standards of services provided in regard to required documentation, medical information, daily logs, weekly reports, calendars, and incident reports for the services provided.
- Display exceptional communication skills in both English and Spanish with individuals, supervisors, emergency personnel and community members.
- Perform Translation (Spanish to English/English to Spanish) to assist potential employers/DVR counselors, co-workers, supervisors, and all interested parties.
- Display the ability to think calmly and clearly during an emergency situation and assist individuals in medical facilities during medical emergencies.
- Successfully completes required all Delaware DDDS, DVR and New Jersey trainings, including but not limited to New Hire Orientation; Training and Employment Boot Camps; MANDT®; CPR and First Aid; Medication Administration, including the Limited Lay Administration of Medications (LLAM) method; Preventing Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation; Shifting Expectations, Life Experience and Services; Life Threatening Emergencies (Danielle's Law); Stephen Komninos' Law; Crisis Management; Corporate Compliance; General Behavior; In-House Orientation; and other required trainings.
