We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pennsylvania Certified School Counselor to join our educational community. Responsibilities
- Provide individual and group counseling sessions focused on behavioral health, and social-emotional development.
- Develop and implement behavioral management plans and student behavioral guidance strategies to foster positive classroom environments.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, child protective services, social workers, and other specialists to support students’ unique needs.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress, challenges, and intervention plans to ensure a cohesive support system.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information while adhering to legal requirements related to education compliance and regulation understanding.
- Assist students in adolescent development issues, childhood development stages, and cultural diversity counseling to promote inclusivity and understanding.
- Handle conflict management situations with professionalism and empathy while promoting conflict resolution skills among students.
- Stay informed about school policies related to guidance counseling, child welfare, school legal knowledge, and educational regulations.
- Support students facing behavioral or emotional challenges through crisis intervention when necessary.
Experience
- Pennsylvania certification in School Counselor required
- Proven experience working with children in educational or social work settings is essential.
- Demonstrated expertise in guidance counseling techniques including individual and group counseling methods.
- Familiarity with special education needs and experience working with students from diverse cultural backgrounds is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of school legal frameworks related to child protective services, confidentiality standards, and educational compliance is required.
- Excellent communication skills for effective parent engagement and collaboration with school staff.
- Experience managing conflict situations with professionalism while applying conflict management strategies effectively.
- Ability to handle confidential information discreetly while maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations.
