How you’ll contribute
A Environmental Surgery Technician who excels in this role:

Adheres and maintains Infection Control Policies and Procedures. Consistently washes hands upon arrival and numerous times throughout the day after handling dirty instruments or equipment, before and after breaks to minimize cross contamination.

Demonstrates knowledge of the basics of Infection Control and the factors that contribute to illness and contamination. Consistently adheres to the Surgical Services dress code and departmental containment to prevent cross contamination. Maintains a clean and sanitary work area.

Maintains coverage of head and face by applying appropriate headgear and scrubs while in the restricted and semi-restricted areas. Consistently keeps informed of the hospital changes of Infection Control processes and compliance to policies.

Demonstrates and initiates aseptic techniques in daily work assignments. Performs general cleaning of department surface areas, racks, shelves, storage cabinets and all storage area.

Consistently cleans OR suites with proper technique in an efficient manner to maintain turnover time of 20-30 minutes depending on the type of surgical case.

Consistently performs Terminal cleaning of the OR suites and the related areas on a daily basis. Adheres to productive utilization of time and work assignments.

What we’re looking for
To be successful in this role, candidates should have a high school diploma, BLS certification, and phlebotomy training. Additional requirements include:
