Overview
We are seeking a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Assistant Toddler Teacher to join our early childhood education team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with young children and a desire to support their growth, development, and learning in a nurturing classroom environment.
As an Assistant Toddler Teacher, you will work alongside the Lead Teacher to provide a safe, engaging, and positive learning environment where children can explore, build relationships, and develop important social, emotional, and developmental skills.
Duties
- Assist the Lead Teacher with implementing age-appropriate activities and lesson plans that support toddler development.
- Help create a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment.
- Support children with daily routines including meals, diapering, toileting, nap time, and transitions.
- Encourage positive social interactions, independence, and emotional development.
- Engage children in activities that promote language, cognitive, physical, and creative growth.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with children, families, and team members.
- Assist with observing and documenting children’s developmental progress.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting classroom environment.
- Follow all health, safety, and childcare licensing guidelines.
- Work collaboratively with classroom staff to provide high-quality care and learning experiences.
Requirements
- Previous experience working with toddlers or young children preferred.
- Knowledge of early childhood development and age-appropriate teaching practices.
- CDA (Child Development Associate) or TCC (Technical Certificate of Credit) preferred but not required.
- Must be willing to obtain a CDA or TCC credential.
- Ability to work as part of a team and follow classroom routines and expectations.
- Strong communication skills and a positive, caring attitude.
- Ability to provide a patient, supportive, and nurturing environment for children.
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred but not required (training may be provided).
