Drobny Rosenthal Law Offices, PC is a leading California law firm specializing in estate planning, estate administration, and estate litigation. We are seeking an experienced Paralegal / Legal Assistant to join our Sacramento office and play a hands-on role in serving our clients throughout the estate planning process.
Position Details
- Job Type: Full-time, In-Office
- Location: Sacramento, CA 95834 (relocation required before start date)
- Schedule: Monday – Thursday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM | Friday 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- Hours: 39 hours per week
- Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, prepare, and finalize all estate planning documents, including wills, revocable trusts, powers of attorney, advance healthcare directives, and related instruments
- Coordinate and execute trust funding, including transferring assets, preparing deeds, and working with financial institutions to ensure proper titling
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, answering questions about the estate planning process, document status, and next steps
- Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, attorneys, financial advisors, and third parties
- Maintain and organize client files and databases with accuracy and strict confidentiality
- Track deadlines, manage document workflows, and follow matters through to completion
- Perform general administrative and legal support duties as needed
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a paralegal or legal assistant, with a strong focus on estate planning and trust administration
- Demonstrated proficiency drafting estate planning documents: wills, trusts, POAs, healthcare directives, and trust amendment documents
- Experience with trust funding, including preparing and recording deeds, beneficiary designation changes, and coordinating asset transfers
- Ability to confidently answer client questions about estate planning documents and the planning process
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Highly organized with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Professional, client-focused demeanor — comfortable working directly with clients both in person and by phone
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and take initiative independently
- Commitment to maintaining strict client confidentiality at all times
- Paralegal certificate or Associate's/Bachelor's degree preferred
