Performs routine and advanced examinations in MRI under the direction of a Radiologist at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. The technologist assumes responsibility for the safety of their patients and colleagues in their designated work area and takes corrective action when necessary to maintain safety. Positions patients, screens and prepares for procedure, administers injections of contrast media, and operates scanners to obtain quality diagnostic images. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care that is appropriate to the ages of patients served.
- Registration through the American Registry for Radiologic Technologist as well as two years formal training in an accredited program of Radiologic Technology.
- MRI certification preferred
- One year in the field of imaging
- Registration/license as required by the State of Illinois.
- BLS certification through AHA required
