POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a dependable CDL driver to transport equipment, materials, and debris between our yard, suppliers, disposal sites, and active job sites throughout New York City. This is a dual-function role. When not driving, the successful candidate will support the field crew with excavation, pipe installation, and site restoration. We are looking for a versatile team member who takes ownership of the work and contributes wherever they are needed.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
– Operate company dump trucks, flatbeds, and material trucks safely and efficiently across NYC job sites
– Transport pipe, stone, fill, equipment, and spoil between the yard, suppliers, disposal sites, and active projects
– Complete daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections and maintain accurate logs
– Load and secure materials and equipment properly for safe transport
– Support the field crew with excavation, pipe laying, backfill, compaction, and site restoration when not driving
– Assist with general labor tasks, including flagging, material handling, and maintaining a clean, safe work site
– Comply with all DOT, OSHA, and NYC DOT roadway and work-zone safety requirements
– Coordinate with the foreman on material needs, delivery timing, and site conditions
QUALIFICATIONS
– Valid CDL Class B license (Class A preferred) with a clean driving record
– Minimum of 2 years of commercial driving experience, preferably in construction or utility hauling
– Willingness and physical ability to perform field labor between driving assignments
– Able to lift 50 pounds or more, work outdoors in all seasons, and remain on your feet throughout the shift
– Strong working knowledge of NYC streets, boroughs, and designated truck routes
– Punctual, dependable, and committed to workplace safety
– Legally authorized to work in the United States
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
– CDL Class A license
– Experience in underground utility, excavation, water main, or sewer work
– OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
– Air brake and tanker endorsements
Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
