Overview
We are seeking a proactive and energetic Day Time Porter/Custodian to join our team! This vital role ensures the cleanliness, safety, and overall maintenance of our facilities during daytime hours. As a key member of our custodial staff, you will help create a welcoming and well-maintained environment for staff, visitors, and clients alike. Duties
- Perform thorough cleaning and sanitation of all areas, including offices, restrooms, hallways, and common spaces using appropriate cleaning agents and equipment
- Handle chemical agents safely, following all safety protocols and handling procedures for industrial cleaning supplies
- Operate floor buffers, scrubbers, and other floor care machinery to maintain pristine flooring conditions
- Conduct manual handling tasks such as heavy lifting of supplies, furniture, or equipment while adhering to safe lifting practices
- Maintain cleanliness of windows, walls, fixtures, and other surfaces to uphold high standards of hygiene and appearance
- Assist with light maintenance tasks including basic repairs, painting touch-ups in residential or commercial spaces, and general facilities upkeep
- Support with industrial cleaning projects or specialized custodial duties as needed to ensure a safe and clean environment
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial cleaning or custodial roles with a strong understanding of janitorial procedures
- Skilled in handling chemical agents safely and effectively during cleaning operations
- Familiarity with floor buffing machines, floor care techniques, and general industrial cleaning methods
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while following proper manual handling practices
- Experience in residential painting or facilities maintenance is a plus
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a busy environment
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
