OMG Hospitality Group is seeking a creative, strategic, and highly organized Marketing & Business Development Manager to lead marketing efforts across our growing portfolio of restaurants and hospitality concepts in San Diego.
This is a hands-on role for someone who loves hospitality, understands what makes a brand resonate, and can move seamlessly between big-picture strategy and day-to-day execution. The Marketing & Business Development Manager will oversee marketing initiatives across multiple restaurant brands, drive guest engagement and revenue, develop partnerships and events, manage creative projects, and work closely with operations, ownership, and outside partners to grow each concept.
Our portfolio currently includes Union Kitchen & Tap, PB AleHouse, Molly's Mission Beach, and Moe's Steakhouse, with locations spanning Pacific Beach, Mission Beach, Encinitas, and Downtown San Diego.
What You'll Do
Marketing Strategy & Brand Management
- Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies for multiple restaurant brands and locations.
- Maintain annual and seasonal marketing plans, promotional calendars, and campaign timelines.
- Ensure each brand maintains a distinct identity while aligning with overall company goals.
- Identify opportunities to increase traffic, guest engagement, brand awareness, and revenue.
- Monitor industry, local, and hospitality trends and identify opportunities to keep our brands relevant and competitive.
- Collaborate with leadership and operations teams to develop promotions, activations, and initiatives that support business goals.
Campaigns, Promotions & Revenue Generation
- Plan and execute seasonal, promotional, and revenue-driving campaigns across the portfolio.
- Develop marketing initiatives around holidays, sporting events, community events, tourism, and other key business opportunities.
- Track campaign performance and use data to optimize future initiatives.
- Develop and manage email marketing and CRM initiatives, including customer segmentation, retention, loyalty, and targeted promotions.
- Identify opportunities to leverage customer data and marketing technology to drive repeat visits and incremental revenue.
Events & Business Development
- Lead marketing and business development efforts for private events, holiday parties, group dining, and other revenue opportunities.
- Develop relationships with local businesses, hotels, tourism organizations, community groups, influencers, media, and potential brand partners.
- Identify and pursue partnership opportunities that increase awareness and drive traffic.
- Help develop event concepts, promotional activations, and community initiatives across the portfolio.
- Coordinate with restaurant teams to ensure marketing initiatives translate into successful on-site experiences.
Social Media, Content & Creative
- Oversee the development and execution of social media and content strategies across all brands.
- Work closely with the Social Media Manager and Graphic Designer to maintain consistent, high-quality brand content.
- Develop creative briefs, campaign concepts, messaging, and content direction.
- Coordinate photo and video shoots and ensure content supports current marketing priorities.
- Review and approve creative assets, promotional materials, digital campaigns, and other marketing collateral.
- Identify opportunities for organic and trending content that can increase reach and engagement.
Digital Marketing & Online Presence
- Oversee website content and ensure hours, menus, promotions, events, and other information remain accurate and up to date.
- Manage and optimize digital marketing channels including email, websites, social media, Google Business Profiles, Yelp, delivery platforms, and other third-party platforms.
- Work with web and technology partners to troubleshoot issues and improve the guest experience.
- Monitor online reputation and identify opportunities to improve guest perception and engagement.
Marketing Operations & Project Management
- Manage the marketing calendar and prioritize projects across multiple brands and locations.
- Coordinate with graphic designers, photographers, videographers, printers, web developers, agencies, and other outside vendors.
- Manage marketing budgets, invoices, purchasing, and vendor relationships.
- Oversee production and distribution of menus, posters, flyers, signage, digital assets, promotional materials, and other collateral.
- Ensure campaigns are executed accurately and on schedule across all locations.
- Work closely with restaurant managers and leadership to communicate marketing initiatives and ensure successful execution in the field.
Analytics & Reporting
- Monitor marketing performance and key business metrics across campaigns and channels.
- Analyze customer, sales, email, social, website, and campaign data to identify trends and opportunities.
- Prepare regular marketing reports and communicate results, insights, and recommendations to leadership.
- Use data to evaluate the effectiveness of promotions and make informed decisions about future marketing investments.
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of marketing experience, preferably in hospitality, restaurants, food & beverage, lifestyle, entertainment, or a related industry.
- Strong understanding of brand marketing, digital marketing, social media, email/CRM, events, and local marketing.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple brands and priorities simultaneously.
- A creative thinker who can develop ideas and also execute them from start to finish.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience managing outside vendors, creative partners, and cross-functional teams.
- Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of projects.
- Strong understanding of social media trends and digital marketing best practices.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret performance data and turn it into actionable recommendations.
- Proficiency with marketing and creative tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Mailchimp, Google Analytics, Excel, WordPress, Adentro, Marqii and similar platforms.
- Hospitality experience is strongly preferred.
- A genuine interest in restaurants, food, beverage, events, and San Diego's local community.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is someone who can think strategically but isn't afraid to get their hands dirty. You're equally comfortable presenting a marketing plan to leadership, coordinating a photoshoot, writing promotional copy, reviewing a menu design, pulling a campaign report, meeting with a potential partner, or jumping into a restaurant to help execute an activation.
You are highly organized, proactive, resourceful, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change quickly. You have a strong eye for branding and understand that successful hospitality marketing is about more than just creating content. It's about creating experiences that get people through the door and keep them coming back.
Most importantly, you're someone who takes ownership. You see an opportunity, develop the idea, build the plan, and make it happen.
Position Details
- This is a full-time, in-person, salaried position based in San Diego.
- The position will report to the Director of Events and will work closely with the company's leadership and operations teams.
- Additional projects and responsibilities may be assigned by the COO and CEO as business needs arise.
- This is a dynamic, hands-on role that requires flexibility to respond to projects, events, and business needs in real time.
- Must be available to work nights and weekends as needed, including for events, activations, content shoots, and other marketing initiatives.
- Salary range: $75,000–$85,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
