Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Social Worker to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive mental health and social support services, including psychotherapy, case management, and crisis intervention. This role involves working with diverse populations, including children, adults, and individuals with developmental disabilities or mental health challenges. The Social Worker will play a vital role in assessing patient needs, developing treatment plans, and coordinating care within a multidisciplinary environment. Experience with EMR systems, medical documentation, and familiarity with clinical research are highly valued to ensure quality patient care and compliance with healthcare standards.
Duties
- Conduct thorough intake assessments and diagnostic evaluations to determine patient needs and develop individualized care plans.
- Provide individual, group, and family counseling utilizing evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, behavioral therapy, and applied behavior analysis.
- Offer specialized services including PTSD care, addiction counseling, Alzheimer's care, autism support, geriatrics, and working with people with disabilities or developmental disorders.
- Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to promote behavioral change and enhance patient engagement.
- Coordinate with medical professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care while maintaining HIPAA compliance and accurate medical records using EMR systems.
- Manage crisis situations through crisis intervention and crisis management strategies to ensure patient safety.
- Document clinical notes, progress reports, and treatment outcomes accurately in accordance with medical terminology standards such as ICD-10/ICD-9 coding and CPT coding.
- Collaborate with community resources for home & community care programs and case management services.
- Participate in clinical research projects related to behavioral health or social work practices to improve service delivery.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current on mental health counseling techniques, psychopharmacology updates, and relevant legal regulations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work (BSW) required; Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) or related field preferred.
- Valid licensure or certification as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or equivalent is highly desirable.
- Proven experience in psychotherapy, mental health counseling, or behavioral health settings; experience working with children, geriatrics, or individuals with disabilities is preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), CPT coding, and HIPAA regulations.
- Familiarity with EMR systems for documentation and data collection purposes.
- Strong skills in crisis intervention, case management, diagnostic evaluation, and patient assessment.
- Experience working within hospital settings or community-based programs is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations including those requiring special education or autism support.
