Restaurant, food prep, grocery or health food store experience is a plus.
Job description: Deli workers will be expected to prepare deli salads, assemble prepared meals, make sandwiches, use the meat and cheese slicers, and helping customers at the deli and bakery counters with other deli associates. Hours are primarily 12 to 7:30pm
Duties:
- Respond to customer queries, make product recommendations and provide samples.
- Assist department manager and associates all ways necessary.
- Help customers locate, choose and buy products.
- Weigh, label, package and make products ready for billing and delivery.
- Stock and organize displays and showcases.
- Clean the work areas and maintain tools and equipment.
- Coordinate with other staff in following food safety and hygiene procedures according to company policy.
- Ensure prompt service and high level of customer satisfaction.
Requirements
- Physical ability to sometimes lift heavy products
- Work in a standing position
- Operating knowledge of weighing scales, cash registers and cheese slicers
- Ability to understand and follow instructions and regulations regarding food safety and sanitation
- Excellent communication skills and customer-centric approach
- Effective time management
- Basic math and computation skills
- Ability to work a full time schedule weekly
Pay: $16.50 - $19.00 per hour
