Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to provide essential support to adult disabled individuals. This role is vital in assisting clients to achieve their personal goals and enhance their quality of life. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to promoting independence, dignity, and respect for the individuals they serve.
Duties
- Support client community involvement, hobbies, financial budgeting, appointment support, daily scheduling, grocery shopping, and enrichment classes.
- Communicate ongoing care results and updates to relevant parties
- Ability to transport physically disabled individuals who require such assistance to remain active and mobile while engaged in household or community services.
- Ability to create a "fun" schedule for clients to engage in social outings.
- Implement individualized care plans tailored to each client's specific needs and preferences.
- Foster a safe and supportive environment that respects client's rights and promotes autonomy.
- Document client daily progress.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in personal care or other related fields
- Compassionate and caring demeanor
- Reliable form of transportation
- Ability to build rapport with clients
- Ability to pass a background check
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Valid driver's license and appropriate levels of auto insurance
- High school diploma
- Available for a minimum of 20 hours a week
