Job Summary:
The HR Generalist (HRG)/Administrative Assistant plays a vital role in shaping the employee experience and fostering a positive workplace culture. This role is responsible for managing core human resources functions including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, compliance, and performance management. As a key culture champion, the HRG works closely with leadership and employees to ensure the organization remains a supportive, engaging, and inclusive place to work. This role supports our HR operations company wide and partners with various departments to ensure their success.
Overview
The HRG is responsible for company-wide HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with the HR Manager in supporting ORBIS Compliance HR function. This position carries out responsibilities in supporting the following functional areas: HR policies and procedures updates, employee relations, training maintenance and assistance, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment, help define and improve ORBIS Compliance work culture. This role is privy to various employee information and thus a high level of confidentiality and discretion is needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Recruitment & Onboarding
- Assist with recruitment activities, including posting job openings, screening resumes, scheduling interviews.
- Coordinate and support full-cycle recruitment processes.
- Coordinate the onborading process for new hires, including completing new hire paperwork, conducting new hire orientations, and ensuring compliance with HR policies and procedures.
- Ensure Salesforce database is promptly updated with new hire information, maintaining accuracy and completeness.
- Employee Relations
- Act as a point of contact for employee inquiries regarding HR policies and procedures.
- Support employee engagement and retention initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with managers to provide ongoing guidance, ensuring effective team oversight and prompt resolution of any issues, with support from HR HQ.
- Ensure Salesforce database is up to date with worker information.
- HR Administration
- Maintain employee records in compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Assist with HR reporting and analytics.
- Ensure confidentiality and integrity of employee information.
- Partner with upper management to develop, communicate, and distribute comprehensive guidelines and FAQ documents outlining company policies
- Compliance
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws.
- Assist in creating, maintaining HR policies and procedures.
- Participate in audits and ensure accurate documentation.
- Performance Management
- Support the performance review process.
- Help managers and employees with goal setting and development planning.
- Assist in training and development initiatives.
- Assist with other HR-related tasks as assigned by the HR Manager.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 2–4 years of HR experience, preferably in a coordinator generalist role.
- Strong administrative and organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Customer service-orientaed with a positive and professional manner.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time position; typically Monday to Friday.
- Hybrid or on-site depending on organizational needs.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $27.50 - $34.00 per hour
