Duties
- Greet customers promptly and professionally, listening carefully to their vehicle concerns to accurately document service needs.
- Explain repair procedures, estimated costs, and recommended services clearly to ensure customer understanding and satisfaction.
- Utilize automotive diagnostics knowledge to assist technicians with vehicle issues, including transmissions, brakes, suspensions, oil changes, tire services, diesel engine repairs, shocks & struts, air brakes, alignments, and collision repairs.
- Prepare detailed estimates using estimating software while identifying opportunities for upselling additional services such as wheel alignments or fluid replacements.
- Coordinate with technicians to prioritize repairs and ensure timely completion of services while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Manage cash handling processes accurately and maintain detailed service records for each customer visit.
- Foster strong client relationships through effective communication, ensuring repeat business and positive reviews.
Skills
- Proven experience in auto service writing or dealership service departments with a solid understanding of automotive repair processes.
- Strong mechanical knowledge across various systems including transmissions, brakes, suspensions, oil changes, tire services, diesel engines, collision repair, and more.
- Familiarity with estimating software and computer-aided vehicle damage estimating tools to generate accurate quotes efficiently.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly and professionally.
- Ability to upsell additional services confidently while maintaining integrity and customer trust.
- Experience with auto estimating systems and familiarity with dealership operations is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of automotive diagnostics tools and techniques to assist technicians effectively.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience in auto body repair or collision repair is a plus.
