We are seeking an Automotive Detailer to join us at Deer Pond Auto. You are someone that understands and deploys professional-grade detailing techniques, tools, and products. This role goes beyond basic cleaning and requires the ability to properly correct, restore, and protect both interior and exterior surfaces. The ideal candidate takes pride in high-quality work, follows a structured process, and consistently delivers a polished, finished result.
Responsibilities
- Perform interior and exterior detailing of customer vehicles to a high standard
- Deep clean interiors including carpets, upholstery, leather, vents, and hard-to-reach areas
- Shampoo and extract carpets and seats using professional equipment
- Wash, decontaminate, and properly prep exterior surfaces
- Perform paint correction, including compounding and polishing as needed
- Apply waxes, sealants, and ceramic coatings
- Wet sand and remove surface defects when required (based on skill level)
- Clean and restore wheels, tires, trim, glass, and exterior finishes
- Use professional-grade tools including buffers/polishers, extractors, steamers, and other detailing equipment
- Inspect finished vehicles and correct any imperfections before delivery
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Follow consistent detailing processes and shop standards
Requirements
- Prior professional automotive detailing experience (shop or dealership environment strongly preferred)
- Proven understanding of detailing processes, including paint correction and surface preparation
- Experience using professional tools and equipment (buffers/polishers, extractors, steamers, etc.)
- Knowledge of detailing chemicals, products, and proper application techniques
- Ability to identify paint defects, contamination, and interior condition issues
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality results
- Ability to work efficiently without sacrificing quality
- Physically able to stand, bend, and move throughout the day
- Reliable, punctual, and consistent
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Additional Screening Requirements
- Must be able to describe their detailing process in detail
- Candidates may be asked to provide photos or examples of past work
- Must be willing to complete a paid working interview to demonstrate skill level
