Job Overview
We are seeking skilled & safety-conscious Traffic Control Laborers to oversee & manage traffic flow on construction sites & roadways. The ideal candidate will have experience operating commercial vehicles & a strong understanding of construction site safety protocols. This role is vital for ensuring the smooth & secure movement of vehicles & personnel, contributing to efficient project completion & safety compliance.
Duties
- Direct & control traffic around construction zones, work sites, or road closures using appropriate signing/signaling methods.
- Coordinate with construction teams to ensure safe passage for vehicles, pedestrians, & workers.
- Load & unload traffic control equipment & materials including barrels, signs, barricades, sandbags, & other miscellaneous traffic control equipment & materials.
- Maintain clear communication with team members using radios or hand signals to ensure safety & efficiency.
- Use maps & plan sheets to ensure proper equipment delivery & placement at job sites.
- Monitor site conditions continuously to identify potential hazards & implement corrective actions promptly.
- Proven experience in construction site management or traffic control roles.
- This role requires flexibility to complete a wide array of tasks & varying shifts, working in varying, sometimes extreme, environmental conditions.
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members & directing traffic safely.
- Prior experience in construction site safety protocols is highly desirable, but not required. This position offers an opportunity to work on dynamic projects requiring precision, safety awareness, & technical expertise in Traffic Control & Commercial Vehicle operation. Job duties may include, but are not limited to: tear down, set-up, & maintenance of traffic control equipment according to plan sets on varying projects within the tri-state area. You will be expected to assist with shop work including, but not limited to: organization, assembly, repair, and fleet maintenance. Wage is based upon experience, skills, duties &/or applicable certifications. 40-50 hours per week minimum. Dependability, ability to work well with a diverse & varying personalities, & ability to exhibit leadership skills are a must.
Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
