EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
As an Alcohol Education Specialist, you will work directly with individuals to plan, design, and implement programs, trainings, and initiatives to reduce underage and dangerous drinking as well as promote responsible consumption by those of legal age to consume alcohol. You will also be assisting the supervisor of the Bureau of Alcohol Education's Education and Grants Management Division to ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. Additional responsibilities include: Conveying, interpreting, and explaining grant services, objectives, policies, and procedures to organizations, advisory board members, staff, other agencies, legislators, professional associates, and others as requestedReviewing and scoring grant applications to determine adherence to requirementsMonitoring and evaluating grantee performance through the review of reports and fiscal expendituresReviewing and monitoring grant expenditures by utilizing spreadsheets and databases to make budgetary projectionsMonitoring the grantee's expenditure of funds to ensure fiscal accountability and accuracyEstablishing, directing, and monitoring objectives and activities associated with the grantsConducting site visits as needed to monitor compliance with grant agreements as deemed necessaryInterested in learning more? Additional details regarding this position can be found in the position description.Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employmentWork hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch. Flexibility needed to work varying days including weekends. Must be willing to travel. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to four days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.
