Job Overview
We are seeking a Cathodic Protection Technician to join our team in maintaining and installing corrosion protection systems. The ideal candidate will have experience in Cathodic Protection installation, maintenance, and surveying. This role involves working with various tools and equipment such as multimeters, Allegro QX, Mesa 3, dataloggers, interrupters, and reference cells to ensure the integrity of pipelines and structures. This position will be full-time and in person. Unless traveling, daily reporting to our main office at 11730 Seaboard, Stanton, CA is required. This position will consist of in-town work and out of town work mostly limited to various locations in California and some work in Arizona with per diem paid for every day of travel. Depending on experience level, a work truck may be provided.
Desired Experience
- Cathodic protection surveying/ design/ or installation
- Pipeline
- Utilities (gas, water, etc.)
- Rectifier troubleshooting
- Electrical work
Responsibilities
- Install, inspect, and maintain cathodic protection systems on pipelines, tanks, and other structures.
- External corrosion control such as CIS, DCVG, PCM, ACVG, annual surveying, atmospheric inspections
- Process field data and produce reports for clients
Skills Desired
- Basic hand tools knowledge
- Familiarity with relevant equipment such as Allegros/field data computers, data loggers, interrupters, line locators, multimeters, portable current devices, soil resistivity meters, and PCM devices strongly preferred.
- Basic Excel and Microsoft word
- ArcGIS mapping
- Trailer towing
Required Pre-Requisites:
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to walk in varied outdoor conditions
- Availability for travel
- Ability to drive for long distances
Certifications Required:
- AMPP/NACE CP Tester (CP- 1)
- AMPP/NACE CP Technicians (CP-2)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
