Overview
Join our team as a Class A CDL Regional Driver. In this role, you will operate tractor-trailers equipped with automated transmissions, hauling 53' dry van trailers. Your expertise in commercial driving will ensure timely, safe deliveries while maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism. Operation lanes include majority Southeastern US and Midwestern US. Many routes are round trip loads from Birmingham area back to Birmingham every 2 days. Other routes include Montgomery AL area to FL, GA, SC, NC, TN and back to Montgomery AL area. Pay ranges from $1400-$1900 per week.
Duties
- Safely operate tractor-trailers with automated transmissions across long-distance routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with DOT regulations
- Manage route driving efficiently, planning stops and deliveries to meet schedule requirements
- Handle various types of freight
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and inspection reports in compliance with federal regulations
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve issues promptly
Skills
- Minimum 2 years experience operating Class A commercial vehicles with automated transmissions in an OTR/ Regional setting
- Strong knowledge of freight securement
- Familiarity with route planning and driving logistics for regional-haul deliveries
- Excellent driving record with a focus on safety and compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) standards
- Physical ability to perform load securement tasks
- Effective communication skills for coordinating with dispatch teams and customers
