The Knox Community Health Center (KCHC) at the Knox County Health Department is seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Patient Services Representative (PSR) to join our team.
As the first point of contact for our patients, you’ll play a vital role in connecting individuals and families to quality healthcare services while helping ensure a smooth and positive patient experience. This is more than a front desk position- it’s an opportunity to be a key member of a mission-driven healthcare team dedicated to improving the health of our community.
What You’ll Do
As a Patient Services Representative, you will:
- Welcome patients and visitors with professionalism, warmth, and compassion
- Schedule and coordinate patient appointments and help patients navigate their healthcare journey
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits to ensure accurate patient registration and billing
- Collect and update demographic, financial, and insurance information with precision
- Assist patients with questions regarding appointments, insurance coverage, and payment processes
- Process patient payments and maintain accurate financial records
- Manage incoming phone calls and direct patients to the appropriate services
- Support providers and clinical staff through efficient scheduling and administrative coordination
- Always maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
- Contribute to a positive, team-oriented environment focused on excellent patient care

What You Bring
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Two years of customer service, medical office, insurance, billing, or healthcare administrative experience preferred
Experience with:
- Insurance and eligibility checks
- Medical scheduling
- Patient registration
- Medical records or electronic health records
