SUMMARY-
Under the administrative direction and supervision of Management provides occupational therapy evaluation, treatment, and/or interventions and oversees the occupational therapy program for participants. Integrates occupational therapy treatment plan into the plan or care for to maximize benefits for participants.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS-
Provides occupational therapy evaluation, treatment, and interventions to program participants.

Conducts initial assessments and reassessments, upon referral from the team, of participant’s condition and functional status.

Provides training, guidance, and supervision to program staff and participants/family members regarding therapy.

Responsible for providing and recommending therapeutic exercises.

Participates actively in the interdisciplinary group by providing clinical expertise in team planning, problem-solving, and processes.

Fulfills all administrative requirements, including but not limited to collaboration with Physical Therapist, attendance at team and staff meetings, and recording and tracking of occupational therapy durable medical equipment.

Develop treatment program when indicated, sets goals and provides treatment.

Record and sign treatments in participant’s medical record, record, sign, and date “Progress Notes”.

Review assessments and discharge participants when appropriate.

Performs other job duties as assigned.

Recommends and upon approval, implements new/revised policies, procedures, and systems for the program that improve efficiency, effectiveness, and minimizes loss ratio.

Performs all other duties as assigned by manager.
QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE)-
Be a graduate of an occupational therapy curriculum accredited jointly by the Committee on Allied Health Education & Accreditation of the American Medical Association and the American Occupational Therapy Association or other equivalent

Be eligible for the National Registration Examination of the American Occupational Therapy Association

Successful completion of certification exam and initial registration through National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy

Licensed in the state of Florida

1-3 years of experience. Must have at least one year experience working with the frail and elderly.

Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance in the State of Florida.

Reliable transportation to meet visit schedule.

Ability to use equipment with visual and auditory mechanisms.

Ability to effectively communicate in English.

Flexible schedule to meet the needs of participants.

Ability to physically access any home i.e. navigate stairs and narrow spaces, tolerate heat and lack of air conditioning, in any area Company serves.

Ability to manage stress.

Ability to perform the essential functions and physical requirements (including but not limited to; lifting participants and/or equipment, bending, pushing/pulling, kneeling) of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.

At least one year of experience working with frail elderly.
