The Fire Prevention Specialist II for PDD performs advanced technical fire prevention, complex plan review, and inspection work that is of a diversified and complex nature.
Duties of this role include:

Performing advanced technical fire prevention, complex plan review, and inspection work that is of a diversified and complex nature.

Responsible for making decision requiring discretion, judgment, and familiarity with laws, codes, ordinances, regulations, and standards.

Providing analysis and approval of plans, specifications, and construction documents for buildings, processes, operations, and fire protection systems and equipment to ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards. Compliance is ordered when violations are discovered.

Reviews and analyzes various underground Fire Lines, Sprinkler Installation, Fire Access, Kitchen Hoods, Spray Booths and Fire Alarm drawings for compliance with International Code Council (ICC) Fire and Building Code Compliance.

Provides technical advice of moderate complexity to City staff, private developers, and the public.

The Fire Prevention Specialist I inspect properties for conformance with federal, state, county, and locally recognized laws, codes, ordinances, regulations, and standards. They are responsible for performing technical fire prevention, plan review, and inspection work of a diversified nature. Fire Prevention Specialists I are responsible for decisions requiring discretion, judgment, and familiarity with laws, codes, ordinances, regulations, and standards. Work is performed under the general supervision of a Fire Prevention Supervisor or Fire Protection Engineer.
