Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Line Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and cooking, with experience in fine dining or catering environments. As a Line Cook, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality meals while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and hygiene.
Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and presentation standards
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient meal service
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and workstations
- Adhere to food safety guidelines and proper food handling procedures
- Assist in menu planning and development, incorporating seasonal ingredients
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed
- Participate in training new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and safety practices
- Ensure all dishes are prepared to the highest quality standards before serving
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Line Cook or in a similar role within the food industry
- Strong culinary skills with an emphasis on cooking techniques and knife skills
- Experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is a plus
- Familiarity with meal preparation, catering, and fine dining service is preferred
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent teamwork skills and the ability to communicate effectively with kitchen staff
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed
